Report from the WI Farm tech days!
More and more professional farmers gos the Poettinger way...
It was a true pleasure for us to welcome new and old customers at the Wisconsin Farm Technology days. Even if the show was cancelled after the first 1½ day, it was still a good (but short) time.
The interest in our machines is growing, and specially the focus on the big mowercombinations, big rakes, and the loader wagons, is very good.
The biggest triple mounted mower on the market is now recognized as the Poettinger V10, it gives you almost 32' of working width and with a 200 hp tractor, it is possible to go up to 15 mph. With this combination of speed and working width it is very clear that the machine is interesting for the contractor and the bigger dairy farm.
The rakes from Poettinger are also products that is made to realize the idea about having better silage/hay quality, and cheaper production price for the cow feed. 42' working width for the biggest model will give the driver even better productivity than before. We do still have the "jockey" wheel in front of the rotor, so that the rotor is guided easily and smoothly over unleveled ground. The principle with a rotory rake making a center swath is also good because of the very level and even swadth. Very often the difference between an even and an uneven swath is making a 15-20% higher capacity on the chopper.
Last but not least, we had also the Loaderwagon in the field... -This machine really starts to find the position in the market, now when the price of fuel is going up, and good labor is getting harder and harder to get . With fuel consumption of about 60% compared to the normal and well known chopping system, it is very easy to calculate the money saved just on fuel with this kind of wagon. On top of that, there are also other benefits like better feed quality, more simple operation, and lower machine investment, in total it is a cost saving of 30-40% for the average dairy farm setup!
