Windrowers – it all started with the 'hayrake'
Pöttinger also supplies a comprehensive line of windrowers
The agricultural machinery specialist Pöttinger has been recognised for decades as the specialist in Alpine technology. In addition to a wide range of mowers and tedders, the Austrian manufacturer also supplies a comprehensive line of windrowers. The cornerstone of this technology was laid at the end of the 50s with the development of the Pöttinger conveyor-type "hay rake".
| In 1960, the first Pöttinger conveyor rakes were delivered to customers in the Alpine regions of Austria and Switzerland. The conveyor rake revolutionised the mechanisation of mountain farming and sales increased rapidly. A total of more than 10,000 Pöttinger conveyor rakes were produced, many of them still in use today. Other technical highlights include the introduction of the front jockey wheel in 1974, providing a marked improvement to ground hugging performance, which at the time was a real innovation in rake technology. Pöttinger has of course incorporated these decades of experience into the latest machines. The ALPINTOP 300 U can be implemented either as a front-mounted or rear-mounted windrower and is especially suitable for use with any kind of mountain tractor/mower or specialist Alpine implement carrier. Thanks to its light weight and smooth running, the ALPINTOP 300 U performs exceptionally well on the steepest of slopes.
The EUROTOP 421 A windrower is ideal for small tractors raking large areas. This trailed single-rotor windrower has a working width of 4.20 metres - offering high performance, best raking quality and careful crop handling all at once. Fitted with the add-on Multitast wheel, this rake offers unbeatable ground hugging. The Multitast wheel tracks the ground and guides the rotor just ahead of the tines to deliver the tidiest raking performance possible.
