Pure performance: our employees' best ideas
Special award for Pöttinger by ÖPWZ
Pöttinger, the agricultural machine manufacturer based in Grieskirchen, Upper Austria, promotes the implementation of employees' ideas through the Pöttinger Improvement Process. Since 1997 the staff has been able to input and realise their suggestions for improvement in the company. is how Managing Directors Heinz and Klaus Pöttinger explain the improvement process. The incredible power of these little suggestions has achieved enormous success at Pöttinger.
During the annual meeting on idea management of the ÖPWZ (Austrian productivity and economy centre)), Pöttinger received a special award: No 1. in the machines and vehicle industry category. In the category "Number of individual suggestions received", Silvio Emmo reached second place with 75, while for the "Number of group suggestions received", Karl Buchbauer and Adolf Rumersdorfer are in third place with 71 creative ideas.
Pitted against international competition, Pöttinger employees play in the Premier league as far as creativity is concerned: an idea management study assessing more than 325 well-known companies in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Slovenia places Pöttinger in the top 10.
The subsequent success at Pöttinger is impressive: almost three out of four employees participate in the improvement process and 83% of suggestions are implemented. The financial benefit of all internal improvement projects added together results in an average benefit of € 4,500.- per employee every year. With these innovative and high performance ideas, the family-owned business is well equipped to face future challenges and further growth.
